We went for a bit of an explore today to see what was around us in San Francisco. We wandered down towards Union Square and a had a look at some of the shops around there. Also along Market street and then back up towards Sutter. Had a looong look in the Apple shop that’s here, everything is very tempting and cheaper than the UK :) Bought some bits in Virgin and then had lunch at Tads Steakhouse. Highly recommended and they do much better food than websites :D

After lunch we caught a cable car out to Fishermans wharf as we are catching a ferry to Alcatraz tomorrow and wanted to see where we’d end up without worrying about time. This was great fun, kind of like a slow roller-coaster :) Shame about all the damn tourists hanging off the side with video cameras though :)

In the evening we went to the wine reception that the hotel holds each evening between 17:00 and 18:00. As it was a Friday, the Golden Gate Philharmonic were playing as well, who were excellent. Claire and I managed about half a bottle of chardonnay between us in the hour and were nicely merry for dinner :)
