We went for a bit of an explore today to see what was around us in San Francisco. We wandered down towards Union Square and a had a look at some of the shops around there. Also along Market street and then back up towards Sutter. Had a looong look in the Apple shop that’s here, everything is very tempting and cheaper than the UK
Bought some bits in Virgin and then had lunch at Tads Steakhouse. Highly recommended and they do much better food than websites
After lunch we caught a cable car out to Fishermans wharf as we are catching a ferry to Alcatraz tomorrow and wanted to see where we’d end up without worrying about time. This was great fun, kind of like a slow roller-coaster
Shame about all the damn tourists hanging off the side with video cameras though
In the evening we went to the wine reception that the hotel holds each evening between 17:00 and 18:00. As it was a Friday, the Golden Gate Philharmonic were playing as well, who were excellent. Claire and I managed about half a bottle of chardonnay between us in the hour and were nicely merry for dinner ![]()
